Ashley here, sharing a super fun layout using the beautiful floral ampersand cut-file, designed by Kim Watson as well as some elements from most of the April 2016 Hip Kits—main kit, embellishment kit, PL kit, card stock kit, and paper kit.
I began by using my cameo to cut the ampersand. First I cut the original file, then I went back into my cameo and cut only the outline, so that I could have the shape of the ampersand, to fill in the open areas. I backed the ampersand with that beautiful wood-grain paper by Maggie Holmes (from the Bloom collection), and then I placed a vertical piece of the Elle’s Studio typography paper on my white card stock. Y’all, I love me some wood-grain paper and it was hard for me use that behind that ampersand, but I LOVED how it turned out.
I started to layer up behind my photo and then came the super super fun part. Well, all of it’s fun, but this is the BEST part for me—embellishing. I used some of the ephemera by Shimelle Laine as well as wood veneer by My Mind’s Eye, and some exclusive pieces designed by Kim Watson and Kimberly Hutchinson.
This was such a fun layout to create!

After creating this layout, I jumped right into my project life spreads for Week 17 and Week 18. I used a few of the cards from the PL Kit, along with elements from the main kit, embellishment kit, and color kit.
I had tons of fun creating this spread and I’m getting so close to completing my 2015 album!!!!!!!! YAHOOO!!!
Don’t forget to check out my process video for this one!! 🙂
I just love these Hip Kits and I love (even more) that I was able to create an entire tag mini album using the kits, and still have TONS of product left. I used the main kit, embellishment add-on, PL kit, cardstock add-on. I’m so glad that I have the patterned paper add-on because I got super crazy die cutting tags out of the beautiful papers from the main kit.
I decided that I wanted to create a handmade gift for my mom for Mother’s Day.
I began with die cutting the tags using these Tim Holtz dies from Amazon.
I then began to place my photos on the tags and embellished each tag. I simply added the ring to bind the tags together, and then placed some seam binding on the ring for an extra touch.

In addition to the mini album and to celebrate gift giving, I decided to create a super simple card! I hope you like it!
It’s Ashley Fowler here to share a super fun layout and Project Life spread with you all! I had so much fun playing with all of the April 2016 kits. I started with the Main Kit and Embellishment Kit for my 12×12 layout. Our theme for this week is Friendship, so I took the time to scrapbook a picture of my husband and I, pre-baby. Most of my scrapping entails pictures of our daughter or photos of when we were expecting. This was the perfect theme to take the time in highlighting our friendship and the memories we’ve had.
This photo was taken at a Baylor University Football game. Pre-baby, we could make last minute decisions to attend an event, and this was one of those times. We had so much fun even though I’m not much of a football fan; I am, however, I Baylor fan.
I just love that blue and white striped paper, designed by our very own Kim Watson!
Don’t you just love this splash of yellow (Shimmerz “No Yoking”) from the April 2016 Color Kit?
I also created a PL spread for this week and I seriously had a blast using the beautiful cards designed by Kim Watson. I mostly used the items included in the April 2016 PL kit, but I did add a few goodies from some of the other kits. Of course, my PL spreads are mainly focused on my sweet girl and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I hope y’all find some inspiration from these projects! I can’t wait to share more! Make sure to check out my process videos for these projects.
