I’m back with two projects featuring the September 2016 Kits! I am so excited to share these super, yet fun projects with you all.
For my layout, I used a white background from our Cardstock Add-On Kit. I a piece of patterned paper with repeated frame shapes and simply cut them apart to add a fun little touch behind my photo. I stitched these down and began embellishing after the placement of my photo.
Most of my embellishments either came from the Main Kit and the Embellishment Kit and most are from the “Gather” collection by Maggie Holmes.
I wanted my title to be one of the main focuses of this layout. I used a few of the Maggie Holmes “Gather” chipboard stickers, as well as the Pinkfresh Studio “Indigo Hills” alphas for a little but of a mix-up. I just love the way this title turned out—one of my very favorite things is to use big words that are already created and add to them.
I sure hope you love this one! Check it out below.
For my second project, I went with a 9×12 Project Life spread. I used cards from the Project Life Kit and simply adhered my photos right one top. For my “title” card, I used the number “8” from the “Gather” chipboard sticker sheet as well as lots of pieces of Simple Stories ephemera pieces for smaller elements. I used two of the beautiful “Indigo Hills” Chipboard hearts (from the PL Kit) as well as some of the “Gather” ephemera pieces that came in our Main Kit.
I hope you all love this one too!
I hope y’all have a great week and don’t forget to check out my process videos for these two projects!
Hey Y’all! Hope you guys are having a wonderful Wednesday so far!
This week, I am sharing a super simple layout of my baby girl! We took this picture on Cinco De Mayo in her little Mexican dress, and then as a family, went to eat Mexican food of course. 🙂
I started with a pink piece of card stock that came in our Cardstock add-on kit. I immediately knew that I wanted to layer up some papers that would compliment the photo, so I used a few Paper Kit patterned papers from the Maggie Holmes “Gather” collection.
I used the tassels as well as chipboard pieces from the Embellishment add-on and the Pinkfresh Studio alphas from the Main Kit. For layering around my photo, I used a couple of “Gather” ephemera pieces from the Main Kit as well!
I hope y’all love this one! Here’s a look at the layout!

Hey Y’all!! I’m back with another 12×12 layout and Project Life spread featuring the amazing September 2016 Kits with you all!
I cannot even begin to explain my love for these kits. From the colors, to the embellishments, to the fact that it’s totally perfect for Fall projects!
For my layout, I began with a white background (surprise surprise) and then I simply followed Ashley Horton’s Sketch for this month. Here’s a look at the sketch…
I placed my photo in the top left-hand corner and matted a few “Gather” papers underneath it. Next, I got the idea to add strips of paper going diagonally from the top left to bottom right—in the sketch, you’ll notice that the embellishments flow down that way and the title is placed at the bottom.
I used papers from the Gather collection that came in our Main Kit and Paper Kit, and also used ephemera from the Carpe Diem “Posh” Collection by Simple Stories–these came in our Project Life Kit.
Lastly, I used some elements from the Embellishment Kit such as the tassels and chipboard stickers. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
I hope you all love it!
For my Project Life spread, I simply started with the HKC Exclusive cards that came in our Project Life Kit. Because I want to hoard those cards, I decided to cut up some papers for my 4×6 cards and I used two patterned papers from the “Gather” collection.
Also from the Project Life Kit, I used the Indigo hills Chipboard Hearts as well as a few pieces of Ephemera from the Carpe Diem “Posh” Simple Stories Collection. I was so excited to use the large “8” wood veneer for my title! It’s perfect.
I hope you all love this spread as much as I do!

Hi y’all! Ashley here, sharing a super fun layout using the August2016 Hip Kits!
On this one, I stepped a bit out of my comfort zone and used some gesso (that hasn’t been used in ages) on a piece of patterned paper from our Paper Kit. I simply spread the gesso around so that it could mute the black/white background. Then, I used a few Prima Oil Pastels to add color right on top of the gesso; these came in our Color Kit for this month!
I then began my layering. I used papers from the Cute Girl collection by Crate Paper as well as a few of their embellishments from the same collection.
Lastly, I added my title, which was quite long. I used American Crafts “Thickers” for my title, part of which come from the Dear Lizzy “Saturday” collection.
I hope y’all love this layout and find it inspiring! Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day!!
