Hey everyone, Ashley here, bringing you another Project Life and Scrapbooking layout, using the March 2017 Kits!
This week, it’s all about dressing-up your Project Life Cards. I really try to do this during my normal processes but I totally stepped out of my comfort zone and used my own handwriting on some of the cards. This was a total scare for me!
I started by choosing my cards and adhering the photos down. I then began embellishing by adding a few stickers from the “Little by Little” collection, which came in our Main Kit, along with a few of the Pinkfresh Studio word and phrase stickers and the puffy stickers.
For my title card, I used those amazing Dear Lizzy thickers that came in our Embellishment Kit.
Even though I’m not too keen on my handwriting, I still love the way it turned out!
For my scrapbooking page, I created a tone-on-tone look for the background by using a piece of pink cardstock with Shimmerz Pasteez (Raspberry Sherbet) from our color kit!
I began layering underneath my photo and used all of the Thickers that came in our March Kits to create a long title. Again, I used several of the Shimelle Laine “Little by Little” stickers, and finally, added a few of the “Oh my Heart” ephemera from our Main Kit.
I hope you love the way this one turned out!
Don’t forget to check out my process video for these projects! 🙂
Ashley here, sharing a super quick and easy Project Life spread with you all, using the March 2017 kits. I recently received the kits and I couldn’t wait to dive right in!
For this spread, I challenged myself to use ONLY the Project Life Kit and I succeeded in that!
I started by setting out my pictures then my cards. I adhered my photos, worked on my title card, and then began my most favorite part: embellishing!
I used lots of the Dear Lizzy “Lovely Day” die cuts, along with a few puffy stickers from the Pinkfresh Studio“Live More” collection.
I love the way this spread turned out and I hope you all gain some inspiration!
For my layout, I started with a white background and simply cut one of the patterned papers diagonally in half. Sometimes I do this when I’m not quite sure how I want to start a layout. Cutting the paper this way helps me have an anchor for my photo and the layers going behind it.
I began to layer my photos, and then added embellishments from the Pink Paislee “Oh My Heart” collection and the Pinkfresh “Live More” collection.
I cut up words from one of the Shimelle Laine “Little by Little” papers for a quick title!
I love the way this one turned out as well!
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!!
Hey y’all! Ashley here, back with a PL spread using the Hip Kit Club February 2017 Kits.
I started with several of the cards from the Project Life Kit along with a few cut-to-size patterned papers from the Paper Kit. For my title card, I wanted to use the Crate Paper “weekend” pattern and highlight the word “week” using the “Oh Say Can You Sea” mist from a previous Color Kit.
I used the beautiful “Oh My Heart” for my title and then began my embellishing. I used lots of elements from the “Chasing Dreams” collection, along with puffy and card stock stickers from the “Oh My Heart” collection.
I hope y’all love this spread! I have to be honest…I love the back side better than the front.
Check out the pics below!
For my scrapbook LO, I used yellow background from our cardstock kit and began to layer underneath my photos, using a few of the Crate Paper patterned papers. I added more “peeking” layers in between the papers by using some of the Crate Paper “Chasing Dreams”ephemera that came in our Main Kit. Because that wasn’t enough Crate Paper, I added some of the stickers from our kit along with the those beautiful gold Thickers from the Main Kit.
I love the way this layout turned out! I hardly ever use a colored background and I’ve gained a little more confidence after using the yellow card stock! 🙂
Don’t forget to check out my process video for these projects!
I am SO SO excited to share that I will be continuing with the Hip Kit Club creative team.
There are so many talented paper-crafters this day in age, that every time a new term comes around, I usually question my chances of being asked to rejoin! I have so much respect for Kimberly Hutchinson and her ability to create such beautiful kits; and not to mention the beautiful designs and the kindness she shows to each one of the creative team members! And Kim Watson….her beautiful designs and the kindness she shows to all of us too! I’m just so honored to be a part of this team.
One of the things I love the most is getting to know new team members and getting a glimpse into their lives. I especially love seeing where everyone is from and the uniqueness of all the names listed on the Creative Team….how cool is that? To say, I am on a Creative Team with talented people all over the world. That’s pretty cool to me!
I can’t wait to be a part of another term and more importantly, I can’t wait to share more of what I love with you all!!
Hey everyone! Ashley here, excited to share a few pages of my mini album with you all using the February 2017 Kits. First up is a more Project Life-style page with several pictures and one card. But don’t worry, I still used plenty of the amazing February kits to embellish the photos.
I began by cutting the beautiful woodgrain 4×6 PL card in half, and simply using it as my “title” card. The project life cards are HKC Exclusive and they are uh-mazing! I added some stamping to this particular card, using the “Oh My Heart” collection.
I used lots of the ephemera from the “Chasing Dreams” collection and I did some simple layering right onto the photos.
This one was a lot of fun to create, but also super quick. It’s a great way to use lots of photos but still embellish using all of the pretties!
For my second project, I created a simple mini scrapbook LO, again, using lots of the “Chasing Dreams” elements. I started with some of the paper from this collection, but also pulled one of the Dear Lizzy “Lovely Day” papers because it went perfectly with the theme of my baby’s first Birthday!
After layering my papers and adhering my photos, I did some simple embellishing with a few “chasing dreams” chipboard and ephemera which came in our Main Kit, along with a few of the stickers from both the tiny words stickers pack (Project Life Kit) and from the accent sticker pack (Embellishment Kit).
Hope you all love this one!!

Ashley here with a super fun, yet kind of different layout for you all, using the January 2017 Hip Kits.
When I first saw these butterfly rub-ons by (American Crafts) “One Canoe Two” collection, I just knew that I wanted to use the majority of them on one layout for a background. So, that’s exactly what I did.
I simply used a piece of white cardstock from the Paper Kit and began rubbing on the butterflies in a diagonal direction across the page—I also placed some coming off of the page so that it would look more complete.
I took on the challenge of NO patterned paper so I simply layered with lots of ephemera from the “Moonstruck” collection.
For my title, I decided to use lots of words that make no sense together (LOL). But I LOVE the look and I hope you do too!
Have a wonderful Saturday!
Hey y’all! Ashley here to share two projects you, featuring the January 2017 Hip Kits.
The first project I’m sharing is my PL spread for Week 25.
I started with several of the cards from the Project Life Kit along with a few cut-to-size patterned papers from our Paper Kit. I embellished with cork pieces from the American Crafts “Hazelwood” collection, along with bits and pieces from the HKC Exclusive ephemera pack Pink Paislee “Moonstruck” collection.
For my title card, I used those beautiful Crate Paper Thickers along with the DIY Thickers (leaving them white).
I just love the way this spread came out and I hope you all do too!
For my second project, I created a super simple 12×12 LO featuring lots of bits and pieces from the Main Kit, Paper Kit and Emebllishment Kit.
I started with a white background from the Cardstock Kit and simply used the HKC Exclusive (decorative) tape to create a DIY background Along with the decorative tape, I added some ripped strips of patterned paper.
I added my photo on the bottom left of the page and began to embellish around the strips of paper and tape.
I used the “Hazelwood” cork, along with the stickers from the Project Life Kit for January.
Lastly, I used the white alphas to add “beach” right on top of my photo and finished off the page with a few of the chunky cork pieces created by Pink Paislee.
I hope y’all love this one too!!
I’m back with a simple, yet fun layout to share with you all using the January 2017 Hip Kits with you all!
I started with one of the beautiful “Frolic” papers, designed exclusively for the Hip Kits. I wanted to use this as a background paper, so I simply tore some of the vellum to mute the floral paper.
I layered a few of the “Moonstruck” ephemera pieces from our Main Kit, along with one of the papers from our Paper Kit.
For my title, I used both a Hazlewood sticker and some of the white Project Life alphas from our Project Life Kit. I seriously wish I had these alphas in EVERY. SINGLE. COLOR. Please? If someone from American crafts or Becky Higgins is out there listening, please make these in every color, and if not in every color, at least mint, pink, orchid, aqua, yellow, and teal. 🙂
I added some more of the Hazlewood stickers around the page along with other pieces of ephemera from the Moonstruck collection.
I just love the way this layout turned out! It’s so simple, yet a little different than what I’m used to creating.
Hey everyone! I hope your Saturday is going well so far!
I have 2 fun projects to share with you using the January 2017 Hip Kits.
I started by creating a PL spread for Week 24. I used several of the cards from the Project Life Kit for this month! I just loved the color scheme in this kit!
For my title card, I used those super cute Thickers as well as the Hazlewood cork pieces.
I used lots of the Hazlewood stickers for embellishments, along with one of the HKC Exclusive wood veneer pieces. I added a few of the “moonstruck” puffy stickers and ephemera, and lastly, placed a couple of the HKC Exclusive ephemera on the top right-hand card.
I hope y’all love this spread and gain some inspiration.
For my LO, I used a white background from our Cardstock Kit, along with a handful of those beautiful cut files created by Kim Watson. I simply changed the color from black to a variety of colors including mint, navy, and pink using the PicMonkey website. I then saved it as a PNG and loaded it to my Cameo software, placed registration marks, and then printed them on my printer. Then, I placed the paper on my cutting mat and used the cut feature! I just love the way these turned out and now I can print endless amounts.
I gathered these floral images around my photo which was matted with 1 paper from the hazelwood collection and 1 HKC Exclusive paper.
For my title, I used those gorgeous gold Thickers again, along with the DIY Thickers sprayed with the Heidi Swapp color shine from our December 2016 Color Kit.
I added several stickers from the “Hazlewood”collection, along with a few of the cork pieces from that same collection.
Lastly, I took the Heidi Swapp Texture Paste from our Color Kit and watered it down. I then made my own pink splatters which I think turned out pretty cute.
I hope you all love this layout!
