Ashley here, bringing you two super fun projects using the April 2017 Kits!
I am happy to say that I have now started my 2017 Project Life! Yay! So, with that being said, I am using the 12×12 system and I. Love. It!
I started with some of the cards from the project life kit and placed them where I thought they looked best. I used white card stock for some of the cards so that all of the color would be balanced!
For my title card, I used the super pretty Pinkfresh Studio alphas, along with a label sticker from our PL Kit (My Mind’s Eye- Palm Beach) and some of the black and white washi from our Embellishment Kit. I also cut apart lots of the phrases from the HKC Exclusive word/phrase sheet that came in our PL Kit.
I added some chipboard from the Pink Paislee (Paige Evans) “Oh My Heart” collection, along with some of the black and white stickers from our Color Kit.
I LOVE this spread so much and I hope you do too!
Now, for the scrapbook LO. I started with a white background and those beautiful cloud + sun cut-files designed by Jana McCarthy. I simply cut out shapes for the inside to mix-and-match patterns.
I used lots of ephemera from the “Oasis” collection, along with a few stickers from the My Mind’s Eye “Palm Beach” collection.
Lastly, I added shimmerz mist from an previous Color Kit in the color “Oh Say can you Sea.”
I hope y’all love this one too!! 🙂
Have a wonderful Easter weekend!!
I’m back with a page, that was not-so-simple to put together, created with the Hip Kit Club (March 2017) Kits! I have to admit, this one was a major struggle for me. It took me about 3 times to get it “right,” and I still don’t super love it.
I started with the beautiful black and white text paper as my background. I started layering behind my photo and at this point, I didn’t love the look of everything, but decided to keep going any way. I then realized after adding lots of embellishments (Oh my Heart, Little by Little, and Lovely Day), that I should mute the background. I grabbed some of the white Shimmerz Paints that came in a past color kit, and adding some of the pink Pasteez (Shimmerz Paints) from March’s Color Kit. I felt that this looked a lot better!
I decided to cut out the black and white paper, and sew it on to the a purple background from our Cardstock Kit. I liked this a lot! I then started adding my layers and something still didn’t look right!
In the end, I decided to take away the feather next to the photo, and add a couple of circular elements, along with words from the “Little by Little” patterned paper that came in our Paper Kit!
I sort of love the end result. Sometimes this happens, and it’s ok! Not all of my layouts come together quickly or simply.
I hope you’ve gained some inspiration from this page!
Have a wonderful Saturday!
It’s Ashley, and I’m back with another scrapbooking layout, along with a Project Life spread. This week was all about using your punches.
Let’s start with the layout. I began with a ledger background (paper from Crate Paper Chasing Dreams) and simply began to layer papers around my photo. I knew immediately what I wanted to do with the punches, so I grabbed my star punch, flower punch, butterfly and heart punch. I simply punched several shapes and then laid some of them directly on top of each other (about 3 or 4 at a time), and sewed the middle; this created a dimensional embellishment with the butterflies and hearts. With the stars, I plainly adhered them to the page as I didn’t want too too much dimension all over the place. The flower shapes were off-set so that the petals could be staggered, also making for a cute dimensional embellishment (with an exclusive enamel dot inside).
I used papers from our Paper Kit, Oh My Heart, Lovely Day and Chasing Dreams. I just LOVE LOVE the way this layout came out. Super simple to create!
For my Project Life spread, I used some of the same punched shapes to add some interest to some of the cards. I started by layout out my photos and cards, and then began adhering the photos and adding embellishments. I used the Crate Paper (Charming) Thickers for the title card (Main Kit), and lots of ephemera from both the Dear Lizzy “Lovely Day” and Paige Evans “Oh My Heart” collections. In addition, I added some stickers from the Pinkfresh Studio “Live More” collection.
I hope y’all love this one too!

Have a wonderful Scrappy Saturday!!!
Hey everyone, Ashley here, bringing you another Project Life and Scrapbooking layout, using the March 2017 Kits!
This week, it’s all about dressing-up your Project Life Cards. I really try to do this during my normal processes but I totally stepped out of my comfort zone and used my own handwriting on some of the cards. This was a total scare for me!
I started by choosing my cards and adhering the photos down. I then began embellishing by adding a few stickers from the “Little by Little” collection, which came in our Main Kit, along with a few of the Pinkfresh Studio word and phrase stickers and the puffy stickers.
For my title card, I used those amazing Dear Lizzy thickers that came in our Embellishment Kit.
Even though I’m not too keen on my handwriting, I still love the way it turned out!
For my scrapbooking page, I created a tone-on-tone look for the background by using a piece of pink cardstock with Shimmerz Pasteez (Raspberry Sherbet) from our color kit!
I began layering underneath my photo and used all of the Thickers that came in our March Kits to create a long title. Again, I used several of the Shimelle Laine “Little by Little” stickers, and finally, added a few of the “Oh my Heart” ephemera from our Main Kit.
I hope you love the way this one turned out!

Ashley here, sharing a super quick and easy Project Life spread with you all, using the March 2017 kits. I recently received the kits and I couldn’t wait to dive right in!
For this spread, I challenged myself to use ONLY the Project Life Kit and I succeeded in that!
I started by setting out my pictures then my cards. I adhered my photos, worked on my title card, and then began my most favorite part: embellishing!
I used lots of the Dear Lizzy “Lovely Day” die cuts, along with a few puffy stickers from the Pinkfresh Studio“Live More” collection.
I love the way this spread turned out and I hope you all gain some inspiration!
For my layout, I started with a white background and simply cut one of the patterned papers diagonally in half. Sometimes I do this when I’m not quite sure how I want to start a layout. Cutting the paper this way helps me have an anchor for my photo and the layers going behind it.
I began to layer my photos, and then added embellishments from the Pink Paislee “Oh My Heart” collection and the Pinkfresh “Live More” collection.
I cut up words from one of the Shimelle Laine “Little by Little” papers for a quick title!
I love the way this one turned out as well!
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!!
Hey y’all! Ashley here, back with a PL spread using the Hip Kit Club February 2017 Kits.
I started with several of the cards from the Project Life Kit along with a few cut-to-size patterned papers from the Paper Kit. For my title card, I wanted to use the Crate Paper “weekend” pattern and highlight the word “week” using the “Oh Say Can You Sea” mist from a previous Color Kit.
I used the beautiful “Oh My Heart” for my title and then began my embellishing. I used lots of elements from the “Chasing Dreams” collection, along with puffy and card stock stickers from the “Oh My Heart” collection.
I hope y’all love this spread! I have to be honest…I love the back side better than the front.
Check out the pics below!
For my scrapbook LO, I used yellow background from our cardstock kit and began to layer underneath my photos, using a few of the Crate Paper patterned papers. I added more “peeking” layers in between the papers by using some of the Crate Paper “Chasing Dreams”ephemera that came in our Main Kit. Because that wasn’t enough Crate Paper, I added some of the stickers from our kit along with the those beautiful gold Thickers from the Main Kit.
I love the way this layout turned out! I hardly ever use a colored background and I’ve gained a little more confidence after using the yellow card stock! 🙂

I am SO SO excited to share that I will be continuing with the Hip Kit Club creative team.
There are so many talented paper-crafters this day in age, that every time a new term comes around, I usually question my chances of being asked to rejoin! I have so much respect for Kimberly Hutchinson and her ability to create such beautiful kits; and not to mention the beautiful designs and the kindness she shows to each one of the creative team members! And Kim Watson….her beautiful designs and the kindness she shows to all of us too! I’m just so honored to be a part of this team.
One of the things I love the most is getting to know new team members and getting a glimpse into their lives. I especially love seeing where everyone is from and the uniqueness of all the names listed on the Creative Team….how cool is that? To say, I am on a Creative Team with talented people all over the world. That’s pretty cool to me!
I can’t wait to be a part of another term and more importantly, I can’t wait to share more of what I love with you all!!
Hey everyone! Ashley here, excited to share a few pages of my mini album with you all using the February 2017 Kits. First up is a more Project Life-style page with several pictures and one card. But don’t worry, I still used plenty of the amazing February kits to embellish the photos.
I began by cutting the beautiful woodgrain 4×6 PL card in half, and simply using it as my “title” card. The project life cards are HKC Exclusive and they are uh-mazing! I added some stamping to this particular card, using the “Oh My Heart” collection.
I used lots of the ephemera from the “Chasing Dreams” collection and I did some simple layering right onto the photos.
This one was a lot of fun to create, but also super quick. It’s a great way to use lots of photos but still embellish using all of the pretties!
For my second project, I created a simple mini scrapbook LO, again, using lots of the “Chasing Dreams” elements. I started with some of the paper from this collection, but also pulled one of the Dear Lizzy “Lovely Day” papers because it went perfectly with the theme of my baby’s first Birthday!
After layering my papers and adhering my photos, I did some simple embellishing with a few “chasing dreams” chipboard and ephemera which came in our Main Kit, along with a few of the stickers from both the tiny words stickers pack (Project Life Kit) and from the accent sticker pack (Embellishment Kit).
Hope you all love this one!!

Ashley here with a super fun, yet kind of different layout for you all, using the January 2017 Hip Kits.
When I first saw these butterfly rub-ons by (American Crafts) “One Canoe Two” collection, I just knew that I wanted to use the majority of them on one layout for a background. So, that’s exactly what I did.
I simply used a piece of white cardstock from the Paper Kit and began rubbing on the butterflies in a diagonal direction across the page—I also placed some coming off of the page so that it would look more complete.
I took on the challenge of NO patterned paper so I simply layered with lots of ephemera from the “Moonstruck” collection.
For my title, I decided to use lots of words that make no sense together (LOL). But I LOVE the look and I hope you do too!
Have a wonderful Saturday!
