Sketch to Traveler’s Notebook

Happy Friday everyone!

Ashley here, sharing a fun and simple Traveler’s Notebook spread with you all, using the Hip Kit Club October 2017 kits!

This one is based on today’s sketch (see in the comments). I started by using some of the pink cardstock on the right side of the page, for my base. I punched my photo into a circle and then roughly cut some of the patterned papers into circular-like shapes. Then, I added some stitching, just for a little something extra.

For some of my other embellishment areas, I punched some circles out of the Project Life cards that we received in our Project Life Kit. These are HKC exclusive!

I added a Pinkfresh Studio tag on the right side of the page, along with some of the tiny words for journaling.

I just love how simple this page turned out! I hope y’all gain some inspiration from this.

Making it work

Hey y’all! I’m so excited to share a fun Memory Planner spread with you all. This week we focused on two of the products from our kits: The Maggie Holmes “Carousel” journaling cards, along with the Paige Evans “Turn the Page” sticker book, by Pink Paislee.

I started by placing my photos around the planner spread. Then, I immediately grabbed the Paige Evans (Pink Paislee) sticker book and began adding lots of the clear stickers all around the page. I particularly love all of the inspiring quotes!

For the journaling piece, I simply deconstructed one of the journaling cards and added the pocket (with adhesive) to my page. Then, I added a touch of journaling and tucked the tag right inside my pocket.

Also, from the Embellishment Kit, I the butterfly stamp in a few different areas!

I love the way this came out and I hope you do too!

Using small embellishments!

Hey everyone!

Ashley here, sharing a fun project with you all, featuring the August 2017 kits. This is my last roject with these kits, and I have to say, I still have tons of product left. I’m so excited to add to my stash and continue to create with all of the amazingness!

I created a 12×12 project life spread using a few of the HKC Exclusive cards from the Project Life Kit.I adhered some of the photos, and started with my embellishing.

Today’s focus was small embellishments. I used tons of the sequins, along with the jeweled stars to add more interest around my spread. I also used a few of the smaller card stock sticker hearts to for more detail.

For my title card, I used some of the HKC Exclusive alphas from the Main Kit. If you don’t have numbers in your set, just use letters, as I did!

This spread was super fun and simple to put together. I hope y’all gain some inspiration and will share how you’re using the August kits!

Oh! and don’t forget to check out my process video–down below!

Planner love

Hey everyone!

I’m love love loving to create planner pages lately!

I’ve been using my BIG Happy Planner for Memory Planning, and I’ve been using my Mini Happy Planner for regular planning. I have to be honest though. I love the mini planner, but it’s just not big enough for me. I’m struggling to fit all of my tasks in the small horizontal sections; especially with my crafty duties, mom duties, and working full-time.

I’m trying to come up with a new planner system and I’d love to hear what you guys all think!

Here are a few of my pages from my Mini Happy Planner.

Let me know what you all think and if you have suggestions on the best planner system, leave them in the comment section below.

Thursday Inspiration

Hey y’all! I have two fun projects with you all featuring the HKC Exclusives from our kits this month.

I absolutely love all of the color that come in these kits each month, and this month is no exception.

To start, I created a Memory Planner spread. I started with several of the HKC Exclusive PL cards from the PL Kit this month. I also added a few of the exclusive puffy stickers, along with a few other elements from Amy Tangerine’s (On A Whim) sticker book and ephemera pack.

At the top of the page, I added “July” in the exclusive alphas and I just loved the way this turned out.

I hope you all love the way this spread came out ๐Ÿ™‚

For my second project, I created a PL spread using some of the exclusive cards and this time, I pulled in a little more from the rest of the kits.

Can we just take a moment to talk about these exclusive chipboard embellishments? Y’all. I love the flexibility, along with the dimension of these. They are just right. Not too dimensional but not flat. LOVE THEM. I also added these around the page too! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope y’all love this one too!

Week 10 PL and “Beach Dayz”

Happy 4th of July y’all! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day so far!

I have two projects to share and first up is a super fun Project Life spread using the Hip Kit Club June 2017 Kits.

I LOVE these kits. There is so much color and I couldn’t wait to start creating!

I started with some of the HKC Exclusive cards from the Project Life Kit and then first to get decorated, was my title card. I then added lots of stickers from the Bella Blvd. “Make your mark” collection along with the Crate Paper, Oasis Collection. I also added pieces of ephemera (and labels) from the Vicki Boutin collection, along with a few enamel dots from the Shimelle “Little by Little” collection.

I LOVE LOVE this spread. It’s one of my favorites in a while!

Hope y’all gain some inspiration from this! Check out my 2nd project to see the LO that I created!

HKC July 1 PLIMG_0395IMG_0396

For my 2nd project, I created a not-so-quick, but sort-of simple layout.

I started with a white background from our Cardstock Kit. ย I had the idea of just going-with-flow and trying to go old-school with the placement of the photos but it just didn’t end up working for me. And that’s ok! It took some trial and error before I realized that I wanted to photos to overlap. And then I began embellishing!

I punched out a few circles from the Paige Evans “Oh my heart”ย collection, and used some of the circle ephemera from the Pinkfresh Studio “Dream On” Collection, and placed these around the page as embellishments. I also used ephemera from the Vicki Boutin “Make your Mark” collection–I especially love the ones with adhesive on the back!

I used items from theย “On a Whim” collection, along with some of the HKC Exclusive alphas, and “Oasis” stickers.

I hope y’all love this one too!

Create your own Traveler’s Notebook!

Hey y’all! I’m back, with a different kind of project for you all!

I decided to create a memories book with extra photos that I had lying around of my daughter when she was an itty bitty baby. She’ll be TWO next week and I’m struggling a little, seeing her go to school for the first time, and also just seeing her grow up in general. I know, she’s not even a teenager yet. Just wait for that…

Anyway, I created my own Traveler’s Notebook out of the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio paper that came in our May 2017 Kits. I simply cut-to-size, scored it and folded it in half. Then, I added printer paper on the inside and sewed it right up. and TA-DA, I had a Traveler’s Notebook that may actually “travel” with me around town so that I can look at her as a baby, whenever I want. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So I used a few elements from the (American Crafts) Shimelle “Little by Little” collection, along with a few of the HKC exclusive alphas and puffy stickers.

This was a super simple and quick process but I love the outcome!

Go Graphic & Mixed Media!

Happy Saturday everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well this weekend! I’m so happy to be bringing you 2 projects, using the Prima Watercolors, along with other elements from the May 2017 Hip Kits!

I started with a Project Life spread. This week, we’re focusing on mixed media, and today in particular, I am focusing on the graphic look. when I think of “graphics,” I think of design and the abstract look.

I started with a few cut-to-size pieces of watercolor paper. I used my Prima Confection Watercolors to create a super fun and simple look.

I used the Crate Paper “Oasis” alpha stamp to create both a title card and a DIY project life card. Make sure to use a waterproof ink when you’re stamping on top of any project containing water-based supplies.

I used tons of the Shimelle “Little by Little” stickers and ephemera pieces around the spread.

Lastly, I added some of the HKC Exclusive wood veneer words, along with some enamel dots.

I hope y’all love the outcome!

HKC June 10 PLIMG_9823IMG_9824

For my scrapbook layout, I wanted to use as much of the HKC Exclusive ephemera as possible. I started with a lined background (to play on the “graphic” side) and a photo of my daughter. I started adding ephemera around the photo, and realized that I wanted to layer the pieces right on top of one another.

I had the idea to use the locks and keys on a string and simply stapled it on to the page. I love this look and rarely use string, so this was a fun addition!

For the mixed media portion, I added some of the watercolors as sprinkles. I’m not a huge mixed media person, but I think added some simple sprinkles can complete a page. Plus, you don’t have to use watercolors as they’re intended; you can totally use them any way you want on a page.

Lastly, I used some of the HKC Exclusive alphas for the title, and added the last portion of the title using the stamp set.

This is one of my favorite layouts with the May kits!!

I hope y’all have a wonderful rest of the weekend!!

Thursday Inspiration-Main Kit

I just love challenging myself to stay within a certain range of products. The funny thing is, my Little by Little ephemera got mixed up with the HKC Exclusive ephemera and I couldn’t tell them apart. That’s how great the products go together! I love it.

For my project, I focused on PL 2017. I am using the 12×12 system and I love it so much more than the 9×12 system I was using before.

I started by cutting some of the main kit papers down to the 3×4 and 4×6 sizes. I added photos into the gaps and on top of the cards, and then simply started embellishing. For my title card, I used the HKC Exclusive alphas that came in our Main Kit. In addition, I used some of the exclusive ephemera to add a little somethin’ extra.

I used some of the wood veneer that came in our Embellishment Kit, along with the puffy stickers by Dear Lizzy (Main Kit also). Lastly, I added some foam Thickers by Shimelle Lain “Little by Little.
