Week 25 and “Hello Beach”

Hey y’all! Ashley here to share two projects you, featuring the January 2017 Hip Kits.

The first project I’m sharing is my PL spread for Week 25.

I started with several of the cards from the Project Life Kit along with a few cut-to-size patterned papers from our Paper Kit. I embellished with cork pieces from the American Crafts “Hazelwood” collection, along with bits and pieces from the HKC Exclusive ephemera pack Pink Paislee “Moonstruck” collection.

For my title card, I used those beautiful Crate Paper Thickers along with the DIY Thickers (leaving them white).

I just love the way this spread came out and I hope you all do too!

For my second project, I created a super simple 12×12 LO featuring lots of bits and pieces from the Main Kit, Paper Kit and Emebllishment Kit.

I started with a white background from the Cardstock Kit and simply used the HKC Exclusive (decorative) tape to create a DIY background Along with the decorative tape, I added some ripped strips of patterned paper.

I added my photo on the bottom left of the page and began to embellish around the strips of paper and tape.

I used the “Hazelwood” cork, along with the stickers from the Project Life Kit for January.

Lastly, I used the white alphas to add “beach” right on top of my photo and finished off the page with a few of the chunky cork pieces created by Pink Paislee.

I hope y’all love this one too!!

Hello Cutie!

Hey y’all!

I’m back with a simple, yet fun layout to share with you all using the January 2017 Hip Kits with you all!

I started with one of the beautiful “Frolic” papers, designed exclusively for the Hip Kits. I wanted to use this as a background paper, so I simply tore some of the vellum to mute the floral paper.

I layered a few of the “Moonstruck” ephemera pieces from our Main Kit, along with one of the papers from our Paper Kit.

For my title, I used both a Hazlewood sticker and some of the white Project Life alphas from our Project Life Kit. I seriously wish I had these alphas in EVERY. SINGLE. COLOR. Please? If someone from American crafts or Becky Higgins is out there listening, please make these in every color, and if not in every color, at least mint, pink, orchid, aqua, yellow, and teal. 🙂

I added some more of the Hazlewood stickers around the page along with other pieces of ephemera from the  Moonstruck collection.

I just love the way this layout turned out! It’s so simple, yet a little different than what I’m used to creating.

Week 24 and “Read with Me”

Hey everyone! I hope your Saturday is going well so far!

I have 2 fun projects to share with you using the January 2017 Hip Kits.

I started by creating a PL spread for Week 24. I used several of the cards from the Project Life Kit for this month! I just loved the color scheme in this kit!

For my title card, I used those super cute Thickers as well as the Hazlewood cork pieces.

I used lots of the Hazlewood stickers for embellishments, along with one of the HKC Exclusive wood veneer pieces. I added a few of the “moonstruck” puffy stickers and ephemera, and lastly, placed a couple of the HKC Exclusive ephemera on the top right-hand card.

I hope y’all love this spread and gain some inspiration.

For my LO, I used a white background from our Cardstock Kit, along with a handful of those beautiful cut files created by Kim Watson. I simply changed the color from black to a variety of colors including mint, navy, and pink using the PicMonkey website. I then saved it as a PNG and loaded it to my Cameo software, placed registration marks, and then printed them on my printer. Then, I placed the paper on my cutting mat and used the cut feature! I just love the way these turned out and now I can print endless amounts.

I gathered these floral images around my photo which was matted with 1 paper from the hazelwood collection and 1 HKC Exclusive paper.

For my title, I used those gorgeous gold Thickers again, along with the DIY Thickers sprayed with the Heidi Swapp color shine from our December 2016 Color Kit.

I added several stickers from the “Hazlewood”collection, along with a few of the cork pieces from that same collection.

Lastly, I took the Heidi Swapp Texture Paste from our Color Kit and watered it down. I then made my own pink splatters which I think turned out pretty cute.

I hope you all love this layout!

Journal with me! Hip Kit Club

Hey y’all! I’m back with a different, but super fun project for you all. So, I totally got sucked in with the trend of Bullet Journaling, or just journaling in general. However, the way that I use my journals is totally unconventional but I’m having so much fun.

The journal that I am sharing with you today is my “Ideas” journal. I have 2 other ones—one of the spiritual and one for lifestyle (this is where I track habits and financial things).

I thought it would be fun to share how I decorated my title pages. This journal was created for ideas particularly DIY, blog, project life, a journal ideas.

I used the  December 2016 Hip Kits to create these pages.

For all of the pages, I used those amazing “Charming” Thickers (American Crafts) Seriously my fave!

For the first page, titled “Ideas,” I used some of the HKC exclusive ephemera, along with the “Take Me Away” ephemera by Paige Evans.

For my DIY page (which is the main one shown) I cut up some of the paper from the #takemeaway collection along with some of the ephemera from that same collection. I also added some of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine from our Color Kit.

For my “Blog” page, I used some of the HKC Exclusive cut-aparts, along with some of the American Crafts glitter tape from our Embellishment Kit.

For my Project Life and Journal pages, I used some of my punches to create simple banners, along with the “Take Me Away” ephemera and HKC Exclusive ephemera from the Project Life Kit.

Lastly, for all of the title pages, I labeled them with tabs using the colored card-stock from our Cardstock Kit.

I hope y’all love it!!

Little Moments and Week 21

Hey everyone!

Ashley here, sharing two fun projects with you all! The first one I’ll share is a simple mixed-media (ish) layout!

I started with a beautiful pattern by Pink Paislee (Paige Evans).  I added some of the Shimmerz (Spun Sugar) dimensional paste right over the stencil from our Color Kit. I let this dry and then I simply cut around the mixed media and sewed it right onto the white background. This was my way of have a mixed-media look, without having to worry too much about the warping. I’ve seen Wilna Furstenburg do this before!

I started layering behind my photo with lots of the “Take Me Away” papers, and then added my title, using those Amy Tangerine Thickers that came in our Main Kit.

I used a few of the gold mirrored acrylic pieces for my final embellishments.

To complete the page, I misted with the Sweet Mint mist that came in our Color Kit.

For my second project, I created a simple 9×12 PL spread using lots of elements from the December 2016 Project Life Kit.

I cut up several of the cards that came in our kit and matted them on a background paper of some sort. I used the “Take me Away” Thickers for my title along with the gold mirrored acrylic pieces created by My Mind’s Eye.

I used tons of the HKC Exclusive cut-apart phrases/words, along with the ephemera from our Project Life Kit.

I used the glitter Thickers for to document my “messy” table, and lastly, added some punched stars out of pattern paper and the glitter tape from our Embellishment Kit.

I hope y’all love this!

All Smiles :)

Hey y’all!!

I hope y’all are having a wonderful weekend so far! I have a fun and simple layout for you using the December 2016 Kits. I started with one of the Pink Paislee (Paige Evans) “Take me Away” papers for my background (it’s a grid design on one side and a hexagon design on the other).

I began to build layers right away. I started by adding a strip of the HKC exclusive paper from our Paper Kit and simple placed it vertically on the page. I then cut several of the squares from another one of the Paige Evans “Take Me Away”papers and roughly sewed through the strip and these squares.

I used a piece of the “Take Me Away” ephemera as a frame around my photo, and began embellishing with more of those die cuts. I cut-apart some of the words/phrases that are exclusive (from our PL Kit) and simply added a title using the American Crafts (Amy Tangerine) Thickers.

Lastly, I used the American Crafts glitter tape to punch some stars to add as “confetti” around the page.

Week 20 and “Love You” Process

Hey y’all! I am super excited to share two new projects using the Hip Kit Club December 2016 Kits.

For my LO, I began with a white background (Card stock Kit) along with a beautiful cut file designed by Kim Watson. I quickly adhered the cut file to my white background, then sewed right on top of it. I used the Parfait cardstock from our kit for the cut file and I think this has to be the most beautiful piece of cardstock I’ve ever seen!

Then, I began my layering process with several papers from the Pink Paislee (Paige Evans) “Take Me Away” collection, along with a scrap from Crate Paper “Bloom” collection.

I embellished with the My Mind’s Eye gold mirrored acrylic pieces (Oh my gosh—so beautiful), along with ephemera pieces from the “Take Me Away” collection. For my title, I used the American Crafts (Amy Tangerine) Thickers phrases.

To complete the LO, I added Heidi Swapp mist in the color “Sweet Mint,” which came in our Color Kit

I love the way this page turned out and I hope you love it too

For my PL Spread—I went back to working on some of my Spring months. 🙂
I started by cutting some of the exclusiveProject Life Kit cards. I simply added my photos, along with some HKC exclsuive cut-to-size patterned papers from the Paper Kit
My title card was completed with two different types of alphas. For the “WK,” I used the Crate Paper, Inc. “Charming” Thickers and for the “20,” I used American Crafts (Dear Lizzy) “River Rock” Thickers.
I added my journaling by simple using bullets to note what we did that week, and then I simply clipped it using one of the Pink Paislee “Take Me Away” clips. I used a few of the cut-apart words and phrases that came in our Project Life Kit, along with wood veneer arrows and HKC exclusive ephemera.
This spread was put together in a flash because every element in this kit coordinates perfectly making it so simple!
I hope you all love it! 🙂 Have a wonderful Saturday.

December Documented Day 3

Hey y’all! Ashley here, with a super fun December Documented spread, using the DD Kit that came in our November pack for the Hip Kit Club!
For Day 3, I had LOTS of photos, so I decided to do a front and back spread.
I started by cutting several of the patterned papers down-to-size (2×2) to fit in the square pockets. I used a few of the HKC Exclusive 3×4 cards that came in the December Documented Kit along with a handful of the Crate Paper (Snow and Cocoa) ephemera pieces.
For my title card, I used a the exclusive alphas, along with the silver glitter American Crafts Thickers for the #3 (these came in our November Embellishment Kit)
I just love those chunky stars. I actually used them right on top of my page protector and I sewed the exclusive #3 onto a piece of vellum to note that it’s day 3—-because one time is not enough 😉
I also created a quick tag as an “insert” so that I can write some extra journaling. I used some of the Pinkfresh Studio washi tape and a super cute paper clip from the Snow and Cocoa collection.
I hope y’all enjoy this spread!! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

December Documented Days 1 & 2

Hey y’all! I’m back with another project featuring the AMAZING December Documented kit that was shipped with the November 2016 Hip Kits!

I began with Day 1! I’m using an 6×8 SN@P album, and the page protectors that I used for Day 1 and 2 have two 3×4 pockets and one 4×6 pocket.

I used several of the cards from the December Documented kit, along with a few of the exclusive patterned papers cut down to size.

The exclusive numbers that came in the kit were used to note that it was day #1 and #2. In addition, I used a few of the puffy stickers from the Pinkfresh Christmas pack!

Lastly, a worked on my cover page. I know, I did it backwards—but I was so excited to jump into my days that I just skipped the first page.

I left this page super simple. I used a 3×4 card with a tree icon and placed this right on top of a 6×8 sized piece of paper that was cut down from the exclusive papers. I added the mini pom-pom balls to act as ornaments on the tree! For the back page, I simply sewed two snowflakes from the Crate Paper “Snow and Cocoa” collection and then added the entire pack of sequins from our Main Kit.

I hope y’all enjoy this!

Week 45 and Gift Giving

Hey y’all! Ashley here, with a PL spread using the Hip Kit Club November 2016 Kits!

I began by cutting several papers down to the right size for the spread. Then, I started with my title card. I used the glitter Thickers from the Embellishment Kit. I just love how simple, yet sparkly these alphas are!

I adhered all of my photos to the spread and then began embellishments. I added several HKC Exclusive “Tis the Season” product as accents, such as the decorative tape and the phrase stickers. I used the Crate Paper “Snow and Cocoa” wood veneer pieces from the bottom left card, and lastly, added some HKC Exclusive ephemera pieces around the spread.

I hope you all love this spread!!

img_5978img_5979

My second project is all about gift giving! I am IN LOVE with this time of year, mainly because I get to shop for gifts for friends and family. One of my absolute favorite things to do.

I started with 3 tags cut from the Tim Holtz sizzix tag die pack. I cut them from patterned paper, mainly HKC Exclusive paper. I used a few of the ephemera pieces and popped them up on foam squares, along with decorative tape and phrase stickers.

For the gift bag, I punched banner shapes from the “Snow and Cocoa” paper to place right beside the larger banners cut from the 12×12 cut-apart “Snow and Cocoa” paper that we got in our Main Kit and Paper Kit.

I added several ephemera pieces created by Kim Watson, such as the snowflakes and banner shapes. Lastly, I added some of the decorative tape to complete the look!

I hope you all gain some inspiration from these quick and simple handmade gift-giving ideas!
